LIMITATIONS.
WGG is free and does not run its own nodes. It reads Ethereum through Alchemy, Bitcoin through mempool.space and Solana through its public RPC, and prices everything with CoinGecko. Each of them meters what one project may ask, and every scan draws on that allowance, so the API caps how big a wallet it reads and how much one visitor can ask of it. These are the caps, and what you see when you hit one.
01Wallets past 25,000 transactions are refused
The limit is ours, not the wallet's. Reading a wallet that large would use up the Alchemy, mempool.space or Solana RPC allowance for hours and delay every scan behind it.
| TRANSACTIONS | CLASS | WHAT HAPPENS |
|---|---|---|
| under 10,000 | Normal | Scanned in the ordinary queue. |
| 10,000 – 25,000 | Large | Waits in a lane of its own, served one wallet at a time per chain. Expect a wait before it starts, and a long scan. |
| over 25,000 | Too large | Refused. Nothing is filed. |
- On Ethereum the count is a lower bound. The only cheap figure is the number of transactions the wallet sent. A wallet that mostly received can look normal, start scanning, and still be refused once the scan has read past the cap. What it had written is then removed: a ledger cut off mid-history would be wrong, not partial.
- On Solana the estimate stops counting at 5,000. Past that the wallet goes to the large lane with no duration announced.
- A refusal is remembered for a week, so retrying the same address answers at once.
02Each visitor has a ceiling
There are no accounts, so a visitor is an IP address. The ceilings are set to stop a script, not a person: browsing a ten-wallet portfolio stays well under them.
| WHAT | LIMIT |
|---|---|
| Scans queued or running at once | 3 |
| Scans started | 20 per 10 min |
| Pre-scan estimates (the note under the address field) | 30 per min |
| Requests of any kind | 1,200 per min |
- Past a limit the API answers with how long to wait: a minute at most for requests and estimates, up to ten for scans. Nothing is lost.
- Joining a scan already running on the same wallet costs nothing and is not counted.
- A shared network shares its ceiling. An office, a campus or a VPN exit is one IP: someone else's scans count against yours.
03A record is as fresh as its last scan
- A wallet scanned less than 15 minutes ago, with nothing sent since, is served as filed.
- A rescan only reads what is new since the last complete one. Once every 7 days it reads the wallet whole again.
- Scans wait in a queue when the workers are busy: the landing shows your place in line.
04What is read at all
- Three chains: Ethereum mainnet, Bitcoin and Solana. The others are not read yet.
- Only what is on-chain. An exchange account, or a wallet you did not declare, is invisible.
- Historical prices are daily closes unless the transaction prices itself. See the math.
NOT BUILT YETA fully unlocked plan
No transaction cap. No per-IP ceilings. Lifting them means paying Alchemy, a Solana RPC provider and CoinGecko for larger plans than the ones those limits protect, so it would be a paid plan, and it only gets built if enough people want it.
Raise a hand if you would. It is one click: no email, no account. Your network is counted once, and only a hash of its address is kept.
